The Heart Foundation are pleased to announce that applications for the 2020 NSW CVRN Travel Awards are now open and close on Monday 23 March 2020. These scholarships are designed to provide financial support to early and mid-career researchers who have been selected to present their research at a national or international conference or scientific meeting, by assisting with travel-associated costs such as airfares, accommodation and registration fees. We hope that by offering these scholarships more of our bright young Rising Stars can take the opportunity to present their work to a larger audience.
This round of Travel Awards provides funding for national or international conferences occurring between 1 March 2020 and 18 December 2020. Please note confirmation of your conference presentation is NOT required at the time of your application. However, funding will only be awarded conditional to abstract acceptance.
Here’s what Dr T Loan Le from University of Sydney who attended the International Society for Stem Cell Research Annual Scientific Meeting in Los Angeles, USA through a 2019 NSW CVRN Travel Award noted: I was very proud to present our work at the meeting and the questions that followed provided me with the experience of interacting and networking with my peers. This was an invaluable exercise, and it allowed me to think about our results and most importantly, how others see our results. Overall, attending the conference was a worthwhile and exciting experience and one that will enable me to progress further in my scientific career.
